"Two-thirds of the Jensen Vineyard was planted with California nursery grafts," he explains, "but all of Reed, Selleck and one-third of Jensen were planted with wood from the 'mother block' because much of the pinot noir planted in California at that time was of uncertain pedigree, and I felt more secure going with true Burgundian cuttings."

と語ったそうな。つまりDRCあるいはデュジャックかと言われる，ブルゴーニュから持ち帰った苗木（現在はこれについては否定していますが，認めると伐採しなくてはいけなくなる恐れがあるからだろうと私は思っています）を全部使っているのはJensenではなくReedとSelleckだということです。

ちなみにRobert Parkerの2003年のレビューではReed 1997は87点。

パーカーの趣味ではないようですが，今は飲み頃としていい時期。ピノ・ファンなら納得できるものだと思います。一方Selleck 2002は89＋点。
The 2002 Pinot Noir Selleck Vineyard displays more earth, Allspice, and plum characteristics than the Mills Vineyard, along with plenty of cherry and raspberry fruit. It is a distinctively earthy-styled Pinot that should evolve for a decade.

Selleckのアーシーというのは，うなづけます。
